How our Food Planner can save your sanity...
The dreaded question asked on an almost daily basis - "What's for dinner, mum?" Why did dinner become such a relentless hassle? Pre kids it didn't seem like such a chore, but now, when you think you've sussed it, you remember you need to eat again tomorrow! Inspiration is low on the ground and there's only so many chicken nuggets they can eat before they become part nugget.
Using our food planner can help save you time, reduce much of the stress, and maybe even help you eat healthier.
Here are five tips to make the most of it:
- Plan around your schedule - Check your calendar before planning meals. Choose quick meals for busy days and more elaborate ones when you have time to cook. We've also placed a handy column to help you keep on track of expiry dates too.
- Keep a master list of go-to meals - Save time by having a list of easy, family-approved meals you can rotate weekly. This helps so much with keeping the nugget number to an appropriate level!
- Shop smart with a shopping list - Write down ingredients as you plan meals to avoid unnecessary trips to the supermarket and cut down on food waste. Our list pads can help with this.
- Prep ahead when possible - Chop veggies, marinate proteins or batch-cook meals in advance to make cooking easier during the week.
- Stay flexible - Life happens! Swap meals around if needed and keep a few easy backup meals (like pasta or frozen meals) for unexpected changes, and who doesn't love an excuse for a last minute take away!
